Default Opel is preparing to launch a SUV-styled version of the Adam

Opel will launch an SUV-styled version of the Adam minicar. It will feature a slightly higher ride and bulkier bumpers than the original Adam.

The SUV Adam will compete with the likes of the Volkswagen Cross Up and the Fiat Panda 4x4. We have no official name for the model as of yet.

Does this mean the adam is on a different platform but uses the same or similar body? I doubt the current adam platform can handle anything a 4x4 vehicle is expected to do

No word on what platform it is going to use. I would guess that it will use a different platform from the Adam though. If it truly is a CUV than it shouldn't be able to run on the same platform right? I figure that they will have to make the dimensions bigger too for the CUV Adam.

if it was on a different platform than it wouldn't be a version of the ADAM... What does opel need another platform for to stuff taller springs under neath and layer the bumpers with more plastic....

looks like an Adam, walks like an Adam, must be an Adam..

Big tires to start, im sure there's much more going on that what meets the eye. We just need to wait for the details to come to light.

Would have been useful if it was actually bigger and offered more seating and storage space.

Do you think that it will come with a more powerful engine or something? It must have something more than just styling updates. There must be some type of change that will make it like a SUV other than the styling. Anybody have any ideas what could be different other than just the styling?

your OP says Opel is preparing to launch a SUV-styled version of the Adam. I don't understand why everyone is looking for what will make it an SUV. Nothing. Its SUV styled. OPEL said it when they announced Adam Rocks, you said it when reporting it here...

Really what are you guys looking for, and why is it so hard to believe that Opel is going to put bigger tires on the Adam Rocks and sell it for more money?

If you could give me 5 dollars and I would give you 10 dollars would you do that?

OPEL is giving you the ADAM with bigger tires ($5) and you are paying them a premium for it ($10)....
