Default ADAM wins Trophy

For the second time in a row Auto Zeitung has awarded the Opel Adam the top pick in the city car segment. 35.8% of the votes were cast in ADAMs favor, second was left to the trailing Volkswagen Up! with 19.5% of the votes.

Now if they wanted to be really serious about the ADAM they would drop a 2.0 in there, beef up the suspension and sell it in North America as something.

...thats not happening.

This is another reason why I think it should be a global vehicle or something that's at least sold in more highly populated cities around the globe.

I agree with a little more potency the ADAM could be an excellent challenger to the vaunted Ford ST's and Audis new S1...

The Adam is a great candidate to bring over to North America as a Buick. It would sell really well to young people and urban people, and I think it would fit nicely into Buick's line up too.

Why do you think the Adam hasn't made the move to being a global vehicle yet? There must be some reason why.

I think that it is hard to move vehicle models over to different markets. Regulations and making sure that they will sell and everything. If it were easier I think we would see it done more often.

that is one of many things that factor into it all.
seeing if the market actually has a need for it is something major

Maybe safety ratings? The Adam is selling well but its not very well reviewed.

Strange that it sells so well yet is getting not the best reviews. Guess that proves that people buy more based on design and reputation than they do on facts and reviews. People spend with their hearts not their brains.

well most car buyers still don't really do that much research on the car before buying

they base it off what they WANT
